1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by Cinergi from Users and Productions worldwide, with focus on compliance with South Africa’s POPIA, EU GDPR, and UK GDPR. California privacy law (CCPA/CPRA) is included only if strictly required.

2. Information Collected

  • Contact & Identity: Name, email address, profile picture, mobile number.
  • Production Data: Project names, scheduling details, crew and cast details and documents (e.g. PDFs).
  • Technical Data: Platform usage logs and device metadata.

Cookies: Cinergi uses only strictly necessary (functional) cookies to enable user sessions and basic functionality. No marketing or analytics cookies are employed.

3. Purpose of Processing

Personal data is processed for:

  • Account creation and authentication.
  • Platform functionality (scheduling, documents, communications).
  • Service improvement and security.

4. Legal Basis

  • POPIA: Processing meets all eight conditions (accountability, minimality, purpose specification, etc.).
  • GDPR/UK GDPR: Processing is necessary for contract performance, legitimate interests, or user consent where applicable.

5. Data Sharing & Transfers

Production data may be shared with authorized microservices (e.g. PDF generation) that may operate outside South Africa/EU/UK. All cross-border transfers use legal safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

6. Data Retention

Data is retained for the duration of the project plus up to 24 months after last use, then securely deleted or anonymized.

7. Data Subject Rights

Users have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to their personal data, and (where applicable) data portability. To exercise these rights, contact support@cinergi.io.

8. Security Measures

Cinergi implements technical and organizational measures (encryption, access controls, audits) in line with POPIA Section 19 and GDPR Articles 32–34. In the event of a breach, Cinergi will notify both regulators and affected individuals without undue delay.
